Frequently asked questions

How do I find out which browser I am using?

Just open this page. It reads the information your browser shares with every website and shows the browser name, version, operating system and device type at the top.

What is a user agent?

A user agent is a line of text your browser sends with every request, describing the browser, its version and your operating system. Websites use it to send pages that work on your device. You can copy yours with the Copy button.

Why does my browser say "Windows 10 or 11"?

Windows 11 browsers still report "Windows NT 10.0" in the user agent, so the two can't be told apart from it. Chrome and Edge can share more detail through client hints, which this page shows when available.

Is my browser up to date?

Compare the version shown here with the latest release from the browser maker, or open your browser's "About" page (for example chrome://settings/help), which checks for updates automatically.

Do you store this information?

No. Everything is read and displayed in your browser. Nothing is saved or sent to us.
