How to make your signature
- Type: enter your name and tap the handwriting style you like.
- Draw: switch to Draw and sign in the box with a mouse, trackpad, finger or stylus.
- Choose an ink color and pen thickness.
- Press Download PNG. The background is transparent, so it fits on any document.
Tips for a great-looking signature
- On a laptop, a trackpad with two fingers off or a cheap stylus gives smoother lines than a mouse.
- Sign larger than you normally would; the image scales down cleanly.
- Use dark blue or black ink for official documents.
- Keep a copy somewhere safe, and only share it with documents you trust.
Electronic signatures and the law
In the US, the ESIGN Act (2000) and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act give electronic signatures the same legal weight as handwritten ones for most transactions, as long as everyone agrees to sign electronically. Some documents are exceptions. This tool creates a signature image; for contracts that need identity verification and audit trails, use a dedicated e-signature service.

Frequently asked questions
How do I create my signature online?
Type your name to see it in several handwriting styles, or switch to Draw and sign with your mouse, finger or stylus. Pick a color and thickness, then download it as a PNG with a transparent background.
Is an online signature legally valid?
In the US, the ESIGN Act and UETA generally allow electronic signatures for most agreements, and the EU has similar rules under eIDAS. Some documents, such as certain wills or court papers, have special requirements. When in doubt, ask the other party or a lawyer what they accept.
Is my signature stored anywhere?
No. Your signature is drawn and saved entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and it disappears when you close the page unless you download it.
How do I add the signature to a PDF?
Download the PNG, then use your PDF app's "add image" or "fill and sign" feature to place it on the document. The transparent background lets it sit neatly on the signature line.
Which is better, typed or drawn?
A drawn signature looks closest to your real one. A typed signature in a script font is quick and neat, and works well for email sign-offs and informal documents.
