How the LOVES name game works

  1. Write both names together, for example "alex" + "jordan".
  2. Count how many times each letter of the word LOVES appears: L, O, V, E, S.
  3. Add each pair of neighboring numbers (keeping only the last digit) to get a shorter row.
  4. Repeat until two digits are left. That's your love percentage.

If the count comes out very low because the names have few of those letters, the calculator still gives a fun score, so every couple gets a result.

Fun ways to use it

  • Test celebrity couples or fictional characters.
  • Play at parties or sleepovers and compare results.
  • Try nicknames versus full names and see which "wins".

Frequently asked questions

How does the love calculator work?

It plays a classic name game: count how many times the letters L, O, V, E and S appear in both names, then keep adding neighboring digits until two digits are left. That number is your love percentage. The same two names always give the same result.

Is the love calculator accurate?

It's just for fun! A name game can't measure real compatibility. Communication, shared values and kindness matter far more than letters.

Does the order of the names matter?

No. "Romeo and Juliet" and "Juliet and Romeo" get the same score, and capital letters and spaces are ignored.

Are the names saved?

No. Everything happens in your browser and the names are never sent anywhere.

What other love tests can I try?

Try the FLAMES game for another classic name test, zodiac compatibility using birthdays, or the love language test to learn how you like to give and receive love.
