Frequently asked questions

How do you play charades?

Split into two teams. A player gets a secret word and acts it out without speaking while their team guesses. Use the timer (usually 60 seconds per turn), then switch teams. The team with the most correct guesses wins.

What are the classic charades gestures?

Hold up fingers to show the number of words, tap your forearm with fingers to show syllables, cup your ear for "sounds like", and pinch fingers for a short word. Agree on gestures before you start.

How many prompts are there?

120 family-friendly prompts across 5 categories (actions, animals, jobs, sports, objects), each with easy, medium and hard levels.

Is it suitable for kids?

Yes. Every prompt is family-friendly. Choose Easy for young children; Hard works for teens and adults.

Can I hide the word from the guessers?

Yes. The word is hidden until the actor taps "Show word", so you can pass the phone around without spoiling it.
