How to play bingo

  1. Give each player a different card.
  2. The caller draws numbers or words at random and announces them.
  3. Players mark matching squares. The center free space counts as already marked.
  4. The first player to complete a row, column or diagonal shouts "Bingo!" and wins after the caller checks the card.

Fun variations

  • Four corners: mark all four corner squares.
  • Blackout: mark every square on the card.
  • Letter shapes: make an X, T or L pattern.
  • Picture frame: mark the whole outer border.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make printable bingo cards?

Choose classic numbers or your own words, set how many cards you need, add a title, and press Generate. Then press Print. Each card is different, and you can print two per page.

How do classic bingo numbers work?

US 75-ball bingo uses five columns: B has 1–15, I has 16–30, N has 31–45, G has 46–60 and O has 61–75. The center square is a free space. The caller draws numbers, and players mark them until someone completes a line.

How many words do I need for word bingo?

At least 24 with a free center space, or 25 without one. More words (30 to 50) make each card more different, so fewer players win at the same time.

How do I call the game?

Use the built-in caller: press "Call next" to draw numbers or words at random without repeats. The called list is shown so you can check winning cards.

What can I use word bingo for?

Baby and bridal showers, classroom vocabulary review, holiday parties, team meetings, road trips ("spot a red barn") and conference icebreakers.
