Quick:

Keep this tab open and your computer awake for alarms to ring.

    How to set an alarm

    1. Pick a time, add a label if you want, and press Add alarm. Or tap a quick button like "In 15 min".
    2. Press Test sound to make sure you can hear it.
    3. Leave the tab open. When the alarm rings, press Stop or Snooze.

Good uses for a browser alarm

    • Power naps (20 minutes is a popular length).
    • Reminders for meetings, calls or medication times while you work.
    • Breaks from the screen, such as the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
    • Cooking and laundry reminders when you are at your computer.

    Alarm vs timer

An alarm rings at a set clock time, like 3:30 PM. A timer counts down a length of time, like 25 minutes, from when you start it. For countdowns, the online timer shows the time left and works the same way. For timing how long something takes, use the online stopwatch.

    Frequently asked questions

Will the alarm go off if I close the tab?

No. The alarm runs inside this page, so keep the tab open and your computer awake (not asleep or shut). It still works if the tab is in the background or another window is in front.

Why didn't I hear the alarm?

Check that your volume is up and not muted, and that the right speakers or headphones are selected. Browsers only play sound after you interact with the page, so press "Test sound" once after setting your alarm.

Can I set more than one alarm?

Yes. Add as many alarms as you like, each with its own label. They are remembered in this browser, so they will still be listed if you reload the page.

    How does snooze work?

When an alarm rings, press Snooze to silence it for the number of minutes you chose. It will ring again after that. Press Stop to turn it off.

Can I use it to wake up in the morning?

It works for naps and reminders, but for waking up in the morning a phone alarm is more reliable, since computers can go to sleep or restart for updates overnight.
